Indian Medical Association Nashik Road Branch

Indian Medical Association Nashik Road Branch was established in 1990. Years ago, before 1990, when the transportation & communication was not as easy as today. The Doctors from Nashik Road had to go long way to Nashik to attend the meetings and lectures. Due to the difficulty in conveyance all felt the need to have a seperate branch of Indian Medical Association for the Doctors in Nashik Road area and periphery. With lot of discussion and meetings IMA Nashik Road branch was established in 1990 with Dr. D. G. Pekhale sir as the First President & Dr. Sahasrabuddhe sir as the First secretary.

Special mention of the founding members of IMA Nashik road is required here. They were Dr. D. G. Pekhale, Dr. Sahastrabuddhe sir, Dr. R. R. Jadhav, Dr. Ajit Junagade, Dr. Arun Behere, Dr. Vinod Komawar, Dr. Vibha Komawar, Dr. P. F. Thole, Dr. S. C. Ray, Dr. Suresh Bhutada, Dr. Patani, Dr. koppikar, Dr. Dighe, Dr. Handa & Dr. Rajhans et al.

Initial meetings were held in members home, clinic & lab. Doctors came together to discuss plans for next activities over tea & snacks. As days passed, new members got added. It is then the organised work like academics, meetings, lectures, sports, cultural activities started. The seeds planted in 1990 by these stalwarts have developed into a huge tree today whose fruits we all are enjoying at present. In fact, they have been rearing this organisation as their own kid.
